THE LARGE KUKUI NUTS ARE POLISHED TO A HIGH GLOSSY SHINE and NATURAL SHELLS AND RINGS ARE USED AS SPACERS.  LENGTH IS 38".  ALOHA!
In ancient times, the Kukui Nut was held in high regard and was reserved, to be worn by the Ali`i (reigning chiefs of Hawaii) as a symbol of the love and respect the Hawaiian people bestowed on them. Today, Kukui nut are still highly prized by the people  of Hawaii and today are worn with love and respect for ancient customs.  Kukui Nut Leis are by far the most popular lei "hua" (seed or nut lei) in Hawaii. They are worn by both Kane (men) & Wahine (women.)
